We have been experiencing temperatures
ranging from the 40s at night to 70s during the day and

An Almost End to Summer

The monsoon season tried to hit us last
week, being about a month too late and much too short. We
did receive some much needed rain almost every day in the
southern Colorado mountains. Home owners are still worried
as the rains have seemed to stop and drought conditions

showers which are such a blessing. Temperatures have been
very pleasant. Drought conditions, though, still exist

Southern Colorado mountain homes continued
to be in danger with the Duckett fire still burning. Today
in Custer County we are experiencing smoke from the Los
Alamos, New Mexico fire.
Westcliffe, Colorado real estate remains
about the same as the last few blogs. We are well into
tourist season here in the valley and gearing up for one of
the busiest weekends in Westcliffe. Fireworks have been
canceled for us, but all the other normal activities are
still set.

Fire Season

Southern Colorado mountain homes have been
in danger this year with several fires. Here in Custer
County there is a fire in the area of Hillside, north of
Westcliffe, that has consumed 4,358+/- acres so far.
Currently it is 75% contained. Many were evacuated from
their homes; some have been given the go ahead to return to
their homes.
Westcliffe, Colorado real estate remains
about the same as the last blog. Although the area has been
busy and full with firefighters, we have a minimum of
visitors enjoying the area at this time.

Well, summer has hit the valley with very
little spring as typical for this area. Last week we
experienced several days of smoke in the air from
surrounding fires. It has been gradually diminishing. As of
right now, the skies are finally clear but that can change
as the wind howls on.

Selling Season Underway

Parade of Lights was beautiful. Westcliffe, Colorado was lit
in Southern Colorado fashion and last weekend was filled
with a craft fair and tree festival which both had many
beautiful items to choose from.

Colorado. We have had snow Sunday, Monday, and again today.

clear to the area so this is a great time to venture into
the Wet Mountain Valley to take in the beauty of the snow
capped peaks.
Westcliffe has been a buzz with businesses and the
community trying to get all decorated up for
the holidays. Soon we will be all lit up with the spirit of
the Christmas season.
